AAO Grant Application

The Louisa Burns Osteopathic Research Committee seeks to support Academy members in developing and performing clinical research. This grant application is similar to, but smaller in scale than, the AOA and NIH grant applications. It is intended to train new investigators for the grant application process. 

The research grant application requires the following:

  • Cover page with administrative official signatures and institutional information (1 page)
  • Previous and current funding, pilot project rationale (1-2 pages)
  • Institutional resources (1-2 pages)
  • Personnel (1-2 pages). NIH biosketch required for primary investigators (~4 pages maximum).
  • Budget and justification (1-2 pages)
  • Executive summary (1 page)
  • Research proposal (1-6 pages)

Resident of the Year Nominations Due Nov. 30

The AAO’s Resident of the Year award recognizes outstanding residents who promote osteopathic principles and practices in their residency programs in addition to contributing to the AAO and the osteopathic profession at large. Nominations are due Nov. 30.

Eileen L. DiGiovanna, DO, FAAO, Receives Distinguished Service Award

Eileen L. DiGiovanna, DO, FAAO, of Smithtown, New York, received the Distinguished Service Award from the Committee on Fellowship in the American Academy of Osteopathy (AAO) on March 15 at the Academy’s annual Convocation in Orlando, Florida.
