Little Rock, Arkansas, March 26, 2009 – Mark S. Cantieri, DO, FAAO has re-assumed the office of Secretary-Treasurer of the American Academy of Osteopathy (AAO). This serves as Dr. Cantieri’s second term as Secretary-Treasurer.Dr. Cantieri is a member of the AAO Board of Trustees and Past-President of the Academy from 1999-2000. He is a clinical instructor at two family practice residency programs in South Bend, IN and operates a private practice in Mishawaka specializing in the treatment of difficult chronic pain disorders. He is a co-author of the medical textbook Principles of Prolotherapy. He is a former chair of the Academy's Hospital Assistance Committee and a member of its Bureau of Experts and its Medical Education Committee. He is past Chairman and a current member of the Indiana Association of Osteopathic Physicians Committee on Legislative Affairs and is a member of the American Association of Orthopedic Medicine and the American Osteopathic Association. Dr. Cantieri is CSPOMM and a fellow of the AAO. He has completed a fellowship in health policy. He is currently the vice chairman of the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation and serves as COM inspector as a clinical evaluator.
