Know Before You Go...

Our 2019 Convocation is just around the corner, and it promises to be an excellent event. Here are just a few things we wanted to bring to your attention before you travel to Orlando.

Registration and check-in
If you haven’t registered yet, it’s not too late! Although online registration will close at 4 p.m. Eastern on Thursday, March 7, staff will be happy to accept on-site registrations starting at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 13. Just visit the Unsolved Mysteries desk at registration.

Pre-registered attendees should first check in at the physician and student kiosks across from the registration desk to print badges and tickets. Scan the code on your registration confirmation to quickly access your tickets. Once you have your badge and tickets in hand, visit the registration desk for the rest of your materials.

nullAAO Convo19 mobile app
Convocation registrants can download the app for iOS or Android. The app’s access code was emailed to all registrants on Feb. 27. If you registered after that date, check your registration confirmation email. The access code also will be available at registration. For the security and privacy of all attendees, please do not share the password. Users also can access the desktop version of the app at

Have questions about Convocation? Make the app’s FAQ your first stop.

Internet access
The AAO will not provide wireless internet at Convocation, so we recommend downloading as many resources as possible before arriving in Orlando. Overnight guests of the Rosen Shingle Creek enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi in their guest rooms and the public spaces of the hotel, but this does not include the convention area. Guests may connect to the Convention Wireless network to purchase daily access in the convention area.

Annual business meeting
Read officers' reports and candidate bios in the 2019 annual business meeting book. If you plan to attend the meeting, remember to bring a text-enabled mobile device to vote. Submit your registration no later than March 7 to ensure your lunch reservation. Members who register after March 7 are invited to attend the meeting, but they will not be served a meal.

Speaker presentations
Speaker presentations will be uploaded to as they are submitted to AAO staff.

Lunch options
New this year! The AAO has arranged for cash-only lunch options to be available in the exhibit hall (Sebastian K) Thursday through Saturday. Lunch options will include cold sandwiches, salads, sides and drinks. Grab it and go.

CME credits
Attendees are responsible for placing the correct attendance tickets in the boxes outside the meeting rooms to verify their attendance at the lectures and breakout sessions. Continuing medical education credits will be reported to the American Osteopathic Association within 60 days after the close of Convocation.

Audio order forms
The AAO will record the lectures in the main lecture hall (Sebastian J), and audio recordings will be available to order. Download the order form now or pick one up at the Osteopathic Education Service in the exhibit hall (Sebastian K).

President's banquet
Don’t miss the capstone event of Convocation on Saturday night! Join us at the president’s banquet for the inauguration of the incoming president and recognition of honorees. Tickets will be available at the Unsolved Mysteries registration desk through Wednesday, March 13.

The president’s banquet is a formal event.

Survey links will be emailed after Convocation is complete. We appreciate your taking the time to share your valuable feedback.

Transportation and parking
For shuttle and town car transportation to and from Orlando International Airport, the hotel recommends Mears Transportation.

There is an Enterprise Rent-A-Car rental desk located in the lobby of Rosen Shingle Creek, and the hotel has extensive parking facilities at daily rates. Please note that AAO cannot reimburse parking expenses.

Need help getting around? The hotel recommends Buena Vista Scooter Rentals, which also provides children's strollers.

Orlando’s average high temperature in March is 78ºF (25ºC) while its low is 58ºF (14ºC). The current forecast calls for slightly higher than average temperatures during Convocation.
