CukierskiNamedResidentOfTheYear.JPGEstablished in 2008, the AAO’s Resident of the Year award recognizes outstanding residents who promote osteopathic principles and practices in their residency programs in addition to contributing to the AAO and the osteopathic profession at large. You are encouraged to nominate a resident who has contributed to the AAO, has contributed to osteopathic principles and practices at his/her residency program, and who has participated in Academy events, including but not limited to the AAO’s Convocation, the American Osteopathic Association’s annual conference (OMED), and/or AAO educational programs. Residents also may represent their residency program with a self-nomination for the American Academy of Osteopathy Resident of the Year.

Nomination forms must be accompanied by a brief essay on the nominee’s merit, a personal statement from the nominee and the nominee’s current curriculum vitae. This packet of information must be submitted in one complete application by the nominating organization and must be postmarked by Nov. 30

AAO resident members who are currently in or who have recently graduated (after Jan. 1, 2019) from an osteopathic residency program are encouraged to submit a completed nomination packet. One nomination per year is accepted from any osteopathic-approved residency program or AAO component society.

The award will be presented during the AAO’s 2020 annual meeting on Thursday, March 12, at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
