Course Description: The Intermediate/Advanced Diagnostic Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Course on Hydrodissection of Nerve Entrapments is designed take the next step for those who have the basic, standard, examination of peripheral nerves down and would like to take their game to the next level. This course will start out with discussion of the definition, technique principles and current literature on hydrodissection. It will then delve into the intricacies of common nerve entrapments to expand your treatment armamentarium. In the first half of the day, we will focus on how to perform diagnostic evaluation and US guided procedures for superficial and deep nerves of the knee, shin, and ankle/foot that can put you ahead of the game. In the second half of the day, we will introduce you to diagnostic brachial plexus assessment and then focus on how to perform diagnostic evaluation and US guided procedures for the main three nerves of the of the upper extremity. Our highly experienced faculty will focus on the normal anatomy & how to scan these topics, but with more detail, while also presenting some pathology examples with examples of hydrodissection specific to their topic. The emphasis will continue to be on scanning technique, probe position and dynamic evaluation.
